Rainbow Trout Bomber Crankbait
Remember what I said in a post a few days ago, I talked about a trout colored bomber crankbait from the 90s, well here it is. This is one of my best lures in my tackle box, it's just sad that Bomber doesn't make this color anymore, it's dynamite. I used this bomber crankbait in Lake St. Clair and at Kent Lake in Michigan. I've caught a lot of largemouth bass and smallmouth bass on this lure.
I'm amazed how well this crankbait has held up in the past decade. I bought this lure in the 90s when I was young boy, since then there's no rust on the hooks and the lip is still perfectly aligned with the body. There's a few scratches from teeth marks, but they are very fine and they aren't affecting the rainbow trout paint job at all. Other crankbaits that are made out of wood and other stuff wouldn't last as long.
I just hope I don't lose this lure on a big fish. I think I'm going to pick up either a braided line or a fluorocarbon line for strength this spring.
