RC Helicopter Fishing: Catches a Bluegill
This is pretty wild, someone takes a RC Helicopter, attaches fishing line and hook with bait. He then flies the RC chopper overhead of the pond and dips the bait into the water, then presto bluegill. But imagine what would of happened if the fish was bigger? Man, that helicopter would of been dragged right into the lake, that would be really cool to see. By the way, did I mention the battery life on RC helicopter is only 6 minutes, the owner is taking a big risk.
Largemouth Bass Eats Baby Alligator
This fishing video just goes to show largemouth bass will eat just about anything. In this video you see a good sized largemouth bass eat a baby alligator, seems to enjoy it too. I was surprised to see bass engulf the gator no problem, truly is amazing! By the way, I'm surprised I've never seen an alligator lure? I bet they would be great to use in fresh water Florida lakes. Maybe I should get into the business and makes some, I bet they would work really well.
Young Bass Fisherman shows off his Skills
Watch as this young bass fisherman shows of his fish catching skills. He takes a piece of string, hook, worm and throws it out on the pond without a rod or reel and catches a decent size bass. I think he's a bit of a show off, but it's kind of a cool video. This is just a highly stocked pond with bass, if this was a natural lake I really don't think this would work.
Doug Hannon on Night Bass Fishing
In this fishing video Bass Professor Doug Hannon talks about night fishing for bass. He talks about how productive night fishing can be. Believe it or not at night Bass can't see as much, thus when they see your lure it will seem more realistic to them. They have no chance of seeing the line or the way your fishing the lure. During day time you have to finesse fish and reel the lure just like it's a realistic minnow, night time you don't have to worry about it. For more information on night fishing watch this awesome video!
Bass Fishing Sweeping Method in a Canoe
This has to be one of the most unconventional fishing methods I have ever seen, but hey, if it works why not give it a try. The fisherman in this canoe puts on a buzz bait, gives up a little slack of fishing line, then he sweeps the buzz bait across the top of the water. As you might notice he does this right on the edge where the reeds are, it doesn't take long before he gets a hit. Now this works on the lake he's fishing at, but other lakes this might not work on. The best thing to do is try it out for yourself.
My 2009 Fishing Accomplishments
So what's your fishing accomplishments for 2009? My biggest fishing accomplishment for 2009 was saving up for my Pelican Bass Raider boat. It may not be much for you, but to me the boat means the world. This is my first boat and so far I've caught: catfish, pike, bluegill, sunfish, largemouth bass, and smallmouth bass on it. I'm still itching for a Muskie! Another fishing accomplishment was a walleye I caught last spring, this is the third Walleye I have ever caught in my entire life. I don't walleye fish much so that's why this was such an accomplishment for me.
Fishing Pictures from 2009
To celebrate the 2010 new year off, I thought it would be cool to post some old pictures I took from 2009. The one large fishing picture is from a dock on a small inland lake across from my sister's house. The lake has all types of fish to catch: pike, crappie, bass, bluegill, and sunfish. I think the lake might have some trout in it also, but I still haven't caught any. Maybe if I throw out a Mepps spinner this spring I'll pick up some rainbow trout. Well here's my past pictures from 2009.
New Years Eve Fishing
Anyone do any New Years Eve fishing? I talked to this one bass fisherman on a forum and he did a little bass fishing. He didn't catch anything, it was so cold out he had to stick his rod under the water to melt the ice in the guides. I'm thinking about going out but I'm not sure what lake I would fish at. Some of them are probably already frozen over. I'm so bored, I miss fishing!!!
Here's a nice picture to celebrate the cold New Year!
The Original Buckeye Shad
Though this fishing lure looks totally heinous, the original buckeye shad is one of the most important fishing lures in my tackle box. I've used it on smallmouth bass, largemouth bass, walleye, and pike. It puts fish in the boat, but you must be in at least 6 feet or so of water, it's a pretty heavy lure. It's really great for casting too, you'll find that you can cast very far if you're fishing off shore. Some of the colors available are white, the bloody(red), chartreuse, black, and orange. There's something about the lure fish love, it's obviously meant to look like a minnow, but there's something else about the lure. Fish just love it!
