Huge Pike in Lake St. Clair

One main species Lake St. Clair is known for is smallmouth bass, but another great species Lake St. Clair you should try fishing for is northern pike. Check out this monster I caught today, the fish is just huge. I don't want to divulge my special spot where I've been catching these huge pike, but I will tell you the awesome lure I have been using. I've been using a 4" Berkley Powerbait Grub, it's just awesome for these big fish, they just snatch it right up from the bottom. They just hit it so hard man!

I lost two other today, one snapped the line completely and another came loose. It makes me wonder how big these fish were. Another fisherman next to us was using crankbaits, he was catching some good size smallmouth bass, but he didn't hook any big pike.

The pike in the picture weighed 10 pounds and 8 ounces, it's definitely the biggest pike I have ever caught. The stomach on this baby was just huge, I think it was a female and was filled with eggs. I just can't wait to get back on the water, but it's going to be awhile because I have to take my boat in to fix a leak.
